Information about DMK Party In Tamil Nadu

Among the States in India, it was only in Tamil Nadu, where the seed of social justice was sown as early as in 1916 by the Justice Party. It was only the Justice Party, which laid the foundation for the lasting success of social justice and responsible for implementation of Social Reforms, necessary for the upliftment of the poorand downtrodden. The D.M.K., at this juncture, recalls the enormity of the contributions made by its great leaders, Dr.Natesanar, Sir Pitti Theyagarayar and Dr.T.M.Nair.

The vicious propaganda that these manifestos given during election times are
just announcements and cannot be implemented were disproved by the D.M.K. Government. It has implemented several social and economic schemes and accomplished successfully great achievements, thereby protecting the people’s interests. When the United Progressive Alliance Government was formed at the Centre after 2004 Parliament Elections, due to the insistence of D.M.K., the Central Government appointed a Commission headed by Justice Poonchi in
2007, as a part of the Common Minimum Programme, to redefine the Centre-
State relations for devolving more rights on the States. The D.M.K. Government setup an Expert Committee and sent suitable replies and recommendations to the Commission on behalf of the State Government.
