Local Holiday on GHMC elections day will be declared on 2.02.2016 as GHMC elections will be held on the 2nd February 2016 in Hyderabad, Medak and Rangareddy district areas. TS Govt has released G.O Ms.No.29 Dated 19.01.2016 for Local Holiday on GHMC Elections Day. TS Govt has issued Authorization to the District Collectors of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medak to declare local holiday on 2nd February 2016.

Elections - 3rd Ordinary Elections to GHMC-2016 - Election Notification issued –Authorization to the District Collectors of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medak to declare local holiday in the areas notified for elections and other related issues – Orders - Issued

• The District Collectors of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medak are authorized to declare local holiday in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area on the date of poll i.e., on 02.02.2016 for all the Government offices, Local bodies and other Government institutions situated in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation areas notified for elections.
• The District Collectorss of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medak are authorized to declare local Holiday on the preceding day of poll i..e, on 01.02.2016, on the day of poll i.e., on 02.02.2016 and onthe day of counting i.e., on 05.02.2016 for all public Buildings, educational institutions buildings and other buildings that are used for conduct of poll.
• The District Collectors of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medak are authorized to take action for declaration of local holiday for the Public and Private Undertakings / Firms located in GHMC area to facilitate employees working in those organisations to exercise their franchise.
• Holiday will be declared under the negotiable instruments Act, 1881
• The Commissioner of Labour, Telangana State is directed to declare day of poll i.e., on 02.02.2016 as paid holiday to shops and establishments located in the GHMC area under AP Shops and Establishments Act, 1988 declaring the day of poll as a paid holiday to all the employees and workers employed in shops and establishments situated in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area
• The Commissioner & Special Officer and Election Authority, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is authorized for requisition the required number of Government vehicles to utilizethem for election work.
